House Teams

All children at Garfield are members of one of four school houses.

Each house comprises children from across each year group.  The houses are named after the Poets’ Corner streets running off Garfield Road: Cowper, Dryden, Milton and Tennyson.

House points are awarded throughout the year for competitions, good behaviour, etc, and at the end of each academic term a treat is awarded to the house with the most points. Each house has two captains from Year 6.

All children in the main school are required to wear a house colour t-shirt and/or sweatshirt for house activities. The houses and their colours are:

  • Milton – Red
  • Dryden – Green
  • Cowper – Blue
  • Tennyson – Yellow.

If you are uncertain which house you belong to, please ask your class teacher or the school office.
